Experience Africa in Motion from home this June

We may not be able to meet in the cinema at the moment, but Africa in Motion (AiM) Film Festival will continue to bring amazing cinema to our audiences in Scotland, and beyond – at home.

This June, we present AiM at Home, a series of virtual cinema events featuring some incredible films from Africa and the African diaspora. Join us online for digital dine and views, post screening discussions, music performances and much more.

The line-up includes:

Best of AiM Shorts
First five films available: 29th May - 12th June.
Second shorts programme available: 19th June - 3rd July.

A Handful of Dates + Q&A, in collaboration with Sudanese Community Group in Edinburgh
Friday 5th June, 7pm (one night only)

Digital Dine and View: Bakosó: Afrobeats of Cuba + Q&A, in partnership with Kuche and the Havana Glasgow Film Festival
Friday 12th June, 7pm (one night only)

 

Memory is a Weapon - Mini Festival

We're partnering with Memory is a Weapon on a mini festival, 26th - 28th June, bringing together Black female artists from across the world to draw on their memories and reimagine new futures during and post-COVID-19.

The includes programme storytelling, poetry, music and two virtual film screening events:

Standing on their Shoulders + Live Q&A
Saturday 27th June, 7pm (one night only)

Afro-Brazilian Shorts - Narratives on Memory + Live Q&A
Sunday 28th June, 6pm (one night only)
