Ser Feliz No Vão (Happy in the Gap)

Synopsis

Compiled from archival footage, Happy in the Gap is an essay on Black liberation in Brazil. Weaving together stories of occupying public spaces, colonial heritage, and black representation in the media, as well as hate speech and discrimination, this short film is a revolution in itself. It not only offers a reflective look at Afro-Brazilian history but also calls for a celebration of freedom - freedom from language and freedom to speak.

Happy in the Gap will be free to watch online for the duration of the festival.
