Horrific memories from his past haunt Lusala (played by Brian Ogola with touching vulnerability), who fled his violent father in the countryside at a young age. Although this event continues to stalk him, his wealthy adoptive family in the metropolis of Nairobi thinks it's high time he worked on his future. Lusala, on his way to adulthood, is motivated to make the best of things, but can the demons from his past be exorcised? Tacking back and forth between intimate family drama and psychological thriller, this directorial debut by Kenyan actor and scriptwriter Mugambi Nthiga tackles issues of masculinity, urbanisation and trauma.

Content warning: Features scenes violence some viewers may find disturbing.
