About the Director

Born in Casablanca in 1992, Hamza Atifi comes from a family of cinema. Enthusiastic about his experiences with directors like Tony Gatlif and Moustapha Derakaoui, he decided to take Cinematography courses at ESAV Marrakech and then at INSAS Brussels. There he developed his cinematographer skills on the short film Poisoned Liberty (selected at numerous festivals, including the Marrakech International Film Festival, and received the second prize at the SILK & ROAD Festival in Dublin 2014).

After graduating from INSAS Brussels, he was asked to do the cinematography for Noah Doesn't Know How to Swim (Crystal de liége - Best Cinematography), a feature by Rachid El Ouali at just 23 years old. At 27, he has already directed the photography of three feature movies and more than twenty-five short films, and he has directed three short films: Your Father's Eyes, Yara Zed, and Suicide Candidates. Jeddi is his fourth short movie.
