Pauline is a first wife but really a single mum juggling several jobs from cleaning at the local hospital to selling vegetables door to door in order to afford an education for her kids. This is very typical for Turkana women. Meanwhile, the men kill time by the river, drinking the local brew. Thank goodness she has a faithful goat waiting for her at home!
This film was created as part of the Scottish Documentary Institute's Kenyan Stories programme, in partnership with Docubox and British Council.
About the Director
Caroline Akai Idire’s interest in journalism started after going on nutrition research deep within Turkana County far from town and civilization when she realized the suffering people undergo because their story was not out there for people to see.
