Synopsis

Henry, while playing with his friends, threw his boomerang. The boomerang never came back! Henry spent his life as a grown man worrying endlessly about the boomerang, fearing its eventual return. This fear fails to leave him; the only alternative was to seek for help, including professional help, for a boomerang!


About the Director

The late Renua Giwa-Amu was an artist, animator, model, and multi-talented Nigerian filmmaker. The youngest of four children born in Lagos, Nigeria, on the 20th of April, 1994, Renua began to show a flair for the Arts at a young age. She would sketch, draw, paint, and illustrate in a sketch book she carried around in her shoulder bag. After secondary school, she was accepted into the Bachelor's degree program at Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia, USA (SCAD). Renua's interests in art, her passion and dream, all came to the fore at SCAD. She never looked back. She went on to add Animation, Illustration, and Storyboarding to her cache of talents and interests, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and minors in Animation, Interactive Technology Drawing, and Storyboarding. Renua's other interests while in SCAD included fashion modelling for graduation Fashion Design students, an interest she pursued after she left college for Fashion Designers.

Her thesis for her final year was a short animation film called The Stick, which was selected to be featured in the sixth season of PBS & KQED television series “Film School Shorts”, featuring top student films. The Stick was aired for three years until 2021.
