Synopsis

Ese is a reclusive 8-year-old girl living in Bariga Sugar - a brothel in Bariga, Lagos. Her mother, Tina, is one of Bariga Sugar's working women. When 10-year-old Jamil and his mother Hanatu move into the brothel, Ese and Jamil begin an unlikely friendship.


About the Director

Ifeoma Chukwuogo is a Nigerian film writer, director, and producer. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, with a specialisation in Corporate Communication from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree in Film and Media Production from The New York Film Academy.

She founded and manages Fizzy K Pictures, a film and media production company creatively directing and supervising the production of stories and media content across film, documentary, episodic drama, and branded content for clients like Ford Foundation, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, EbonyLife TV, and Nestle Nigeria. She is also a freelance Film/TV Director, directing hours of film and television content for studios and production companies in Nigeria and Africa, including Ebony Life Media, NdaniTV, Multichoice, and Showmax.
